The vocalist of a famous indie band apologizes for allegations of sexual harassment: “Though it’s late, I want to apologize now.”

[Financial News] Na Sang-hyun of the indie band Na Sang-hyun Band has apologized for allegations of sexual harassment surrounding him.

On the 23rd, Na Sang-hyun posted on his X (formerly Twitter), stating, “After drinking in the past, I ended up hurting the victim in a situation where I didn’t clearly remember the circumstances,” and he added, “I sincerely apologize to those who may have felt discomfort or unease due to my past actions.”

Na Sang-hyun also expressed, “I am even more regretful for not being able to apologize in person at the time,” adding, “I am taking this opportunity, albeit late, to offer my apologies.”

Previously, a post on social media alleged that Na Sang-hyun pretended to be drunken at a drinking party and touched women’s thighs. The post claimed, “If the person next to him at the drinking party was a woman, he would touch their thigh pretending to be drunk, and if the woman was sober and responded, he would act surprised and say it was a mistake. I am writing this based on the accumulated experiences. I’m sorry it’s vague out of fear of identification. Since it was in a private setting, there is no proof.”

Na Sang-hyun stated, “I know it’s late, but I want to personally apologize now. Please send me a personal message if you’re okay with it. I also ask that there be no secondary harm to the writer of the post.”

He continued, “After being criticized for my words and actions while intoxicated 3-4 years ago, I have been reflecting deeply and have worked consistently to improve, helped by those around me. I will continue to reflect and strive to ensure similar incidents don’t occur in the future.”

He also said, “I feel even more burdened for having acted against the values I have always thought and spoken of,” adding, “I will create clearer standards to uphold the values I hold dear through actions. Once again, I deeply apologize.”

Meanwhile, Na Sang-hyun debuted as a vocalist and guitarist for Na Sang-hyun Band with the omnibus album “Late Dawn” on July 7, 2014. He has gained recognition through collaborations with famous idol singers like Mamamoo’s Wheein and Day6’s Young K, and he is active primarily in university festivals and performances.
