Special prosecutor Kim Gun-hee conducted a search and seizure at the People Power Party headquarters regarding the “Geonjin Buddhist Monk allegations.”

The special investigation team led by Min Joong-ki conducted a search and seizure at the central office of the People Power Party in relation to allegations involving Jeon Seong-bae, a shaman known as Geonjin Beopsa. According to legal sources on the 13th, the team executed a search warrant at the Yeouido headquarters in Seoul. The team stated through a press release that they were executing the search as part of cooperation for submitting electronic data related to the allegations of bribery involving Geonjin Beopsa and others. Reports indicate that the investigation received a warrant to search and seize evidence linked to accusations that Unification Church officials attempted to systematically recruit members into the People Power Party in December 2022, ahead of the party convention. Additionally, the team searched the residence of former Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, Kim Oh-jin, as well as the interior firm ’21 Gram’ which led the renovation related to the “President’s Residence in Hannam-dong relocation” suspicion.
