(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Joo-hwan: SOOP announced on the 20th that it will oversee the domestic and global broadcast production and coverage of ECA 2026, the Asian eSports Championship 2026.
ECA 2026 is a global eSports event hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA), Gyeongsangnam-do, and Jinju City. It will be held at the Jinju Indoor Gymnasium from the 25th to the 26th.
SOOP will produce all game programs from the opening to the closing of the championship and will live broadcast them through the SOOP platform and KeSPA’s official channels.
Around 150 national representative athletes will participate in this event, competing in seven categories: PUBG Mobile, Eternal Return, Street Fighter 6, eFootball Series, The King of Fighters XV, Tekken 8, and Steppin.
To commemorate the first official inclusion of ‘Eternal Return’ as an event, SOOP will host a drops event to reward users watching the live stream.
Additionally, there will be events for predicting outcomes and guessing the final rank of the Korean national team.
