The ‘Birth Support Mall’ is part of the private cooperation project ‘Birth Support Seoul Project’ aimed at overcoming low birth rates. It is an online parenting product sales mall established in collaboration with Shinhan Card and LG CNS, offering items such as diapers and formula milk at reduced prices. By 9 AM on the 17th, 6,278 participants had registered, resulting in approximately 33 million won in purchases, showing that it is gradually establishing itself as an online mall.
Seoul reflected citizens’ feedback from the first month of operating the ‘Birth Support Mall’ to increase its benefits. Holders of the Shinhan Multi-Child Happiness Card, issued starting from the 10th, can receive a ‘20% discount coupon for families with multiple children’ when purchasing diapers and formula milk. Coupons can be downloaded from the Birth Support Mall from 10 AM on the 19th, with up to 3 coupons per person (each with a maximum discount of 10,000 won, totaling 30,000 won).
The main products like diapers and formula milk are subject to a ‘lowest price guarantee’, which compensates the difference if a lower price is confirmed on another mall. To ensure the Birth Support Mall functions as a pivotal platform to help solve low birth rates, Seoul plans to expand the products covered by the lowest price guarantee, issue additional discount coupons for families with multiple children, and prepare a special sale event for discounted products.
