Seoul City to Support Test-takers on College Entrance Exam Day: Expanded Subway Services and Increased Bus Allocations

Seoul announced on the 10th that a comprehensive transportation plan has been prepared for the students taking the “2026 College Scholastic Ability Test” on the 13th. This year, 114,158 students will take the test at 228 test centers throughout Seoul. On this day, students must enter their designated test centers between 6:30 AM and 8:10 AM.

To prevent students from being late due to traffic congestion on the test day, Seoul City has decided to adjust the start time for employees of the city, district offices, and public offices to 10 AM, an hour later than usual. On the test day, Seoul’s subway will increase its number of operations by 29 times and focus on dispatching trains between 6 AM and 10 AM. City and local buses will maintain minimal intervals between 6 AM and 8:10 AM and again between 6 PM and 9 PM.

The district offices will station 646 private and public vehicles with “Student Transportation Support Vehicle” signs near the test centers. Students worried about being late can use these vehicles to reach the test centers for free. Noise-causing inspections and construction near the test centers will be temporarily halted, and there will be increased enforcement against illegal parking within a 2 km radius around schools and subway stations near the test centers.

Ye Jang-kwon, Director of Seoul’s Transportation Bureau, stated, “We will provide comprehensive transportation convenience to ensure that this year’s students can fully concentrate on their exams and achieve the desired outcomes.”
