According to Newsis on the 27th, the police have booked and are investigating two men in their 20s, identified as Mr. A and Mr. B, on charges of property damage, home invasion, and defamation.

Mr. A is accused of dumping food waste and spray-painting the door of an apartment in Dongtan New City, Hwaseong. He also allegedly applied adhesive to the door lock and created and distributed leaflets defaming the victim.

Mr. A reportedly committed these acts in exchange for virtual assets (cryptocurrency) worth about 800,000 won. During the police investigation, he stated, “I saw an ad on Telegram and decided to engage in retaliation for hire,” and added that “the victim is a stranger to me.”

Mr. B committed his crime in a multi-family dwelling in Sanbon-dong, Gunpo. He also spray-painted the front door and left dozens of threatening flyers about the victim. Although B was promised virtual assets worth 600,000 won as compensation for his retaliation acts, it is understood that he never actually received them.

The police are investigating the details of the case, including who ordered A and B to carry out these acts.
