The police’s special investigation team announced through a press notice that they are attempting a search and seizure at the office of the Presidential Security Service, targeting Deputy Chief Kim Seong-hoon and Chief Lee Kwang-woo.

Investigators dispatched to the scene are on standby for the search and seizure. They are expected to negotiate the search and seizure details with the security service officials.

Deputy Chief Kim and Chief Lee, who are considered hardliners within the Presidential Security Service, are being accused of obstruction of special official duties and abuse of power under the Presidential Security Act.

Previously, on the 24th of last month, the police requested arrest warrants for Deputy Chief Kim and Chief Lee, but the prosecution demanded further investigation and rejected the request.
