A woman who performed illegal cosmetic procedures in an apartment without a medical license and a man who illegally distributed related medical products have been caught by the police.
The Ulsan Nambu Police Station announced on the 31st that they have apprehended a woman in her 40s, identified as A, for violating the Special Act on the Control of Health Crimes, and a man in his 40s, identified as B, on charges of violating the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act.
A has been booked without physical detention, while B has been arrested.
A is accused of illegally performing cosmetic procedures such as Botox, fillers, and laser treatments in an apartment in the Nam-gu area of Ulsan from February 11, 2022, to July 16 of this year.
It was investigated that A received 100,000 to 200,000 won per procedure, accumulating an illicit profit of about 100 million won from 150 clients.
B is accused of illegally distributing medical products worth approximately 26 million won over a period of two years and six months since February 2022.
It was revealed that B established a corporate entity under the names of acquaintances and family members to sell medical products to unlicensed medical practitioners like A.
