Korea Consumer Agency Launches Campaign to Prevent Fire Accidents Involving Power Banks and Power Strips

The Korea Consumer Agency [Provided by Korea Consumer Agency, resale and DB prohibited] announced on the 10th that it would conduct a “Fire Accident Prevention Campaign for Power Banks, Multi-taps, Electric Bicycles, and Electric Scooters” in collaboration with the National Agency for Technology and Standards, Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, Fire Service Headquarters, and Gyeongnam Fire Department.

Each organization plans to create fire accident prevention posters and promote them through their online channels. They also intend to distribute these posters with the cooperation of management offices in apartment complexes.

The participating organizations in the campaign have requested consumers to avoid storing power banks in high-temperature, humid environments and to refrain from the ‘octopus-style use’ of connecting multiple products simultaneously to a multi-tap.
