Diverse Programs Including Talk Concerts, Education, and Theater,
‘Jangseong County combined ‘cleanliness’ and ‘festival’ contents to hold the ‘2024 Clean Festival’ at the Cultural Arts Center’s main auditorium on the 28th with the participation of about 200 public officials,’ the county announced on the 29th.
On that day, the festival proceeded in the order of a talk concert with the county mayor, cleanliness education, and cleanliness theater. In the ‘Cleanliness Talk Concert,’ Mayor Kim Han-jong and public officials freely exchanged opinions on ensuring fairness in administrative duties and measures to prevent abuse of power.
The format was also engaging. Public officials left questions via text message through QR code access on their smartphones, which were then projected onto the screen in the auditorium for Mayor Kim Han-jong to address on the spot. Questions like “How can we establish a culture of leaving work at 6 PM?” and “How should we respond to a complainant who says they will visit the mayor?” created a lively atmosphere.
Next was the ‘Cleanliness Education’ session, led by Lee Yoon-mi, a specialist lecturer from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission’s Cleanliness Training Institute, where discussions and opinions on the code of conduct for government officials related to cleanliness were shared in a participatory lecture format.
The final part was the ‘Cleanliness Theater,’ where attendees explored cases such as using confidential work information for personal gain and giving unfair work orders to subordinates through a situational play, creating a time for the participants to empathize.
County Mayor Kim Han-jong stated, “Through the festival format, we aimed to actively encourage communication and active participation in promoting ‘cleanliness,’ which is the fundamental virtue and duty of public officials,” and added, “We will continue our efforts to create a clean public sector in the future.”
Jangseong County has achieved a Grade 2 ranking in the comprehensive cleanliness evaluation of public institutions conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission for two consecutive years in 2022 and 2023. The county is actively promoting various cleanliness policies, including the ‘Good Morning Clean Broadcast,’ ‘Cleanliness Self-Study System Operation,’ ‘Cleanliness Resolution Conference,’ and ‘Cleanliness Screen Protector,’ with the goal of achieving a Grade 1 cleanliness rating.
