“Fake content defamation” lawyer eventually arrested after reapplication for a warrant.

Court Issued Arrest Warrant: “Significant Substantiated Charges”

A lawyer who was sued for extorting money by threatening YouTuber Tsuyang (real name Park Jeong-won), who has over 10 million subscribers, was arrested on the 19th after the second arrest hearing.

Judge Son Cheol of Suwon District Court held a second arrest hearing for lawyer Choi and issued an arrest warrant in the afternoon.

Judge Son stated, “The substantiated charges are significant,” as the reason for issuing the arrest warrant.

Lawyer Choi is accused of extortion against Tsuyang and aiding and abetting in the extortion case against YouTuber Kura, as well as coercion involving A, the former boyfriend of Tsuyang’s former agency.

Tsuyang claimed, “Out of fear of retaliation from Lawyer Choi, who knows about my past, I signed a torture contract and paid 23 million won.”

Previously, the prosecution requested a pre-arrest warrant for Lawyer Choi on June 30 along with YouTuber Kura, but the court rejected the warrant stating disagreements in the criminal intent and lack of concern for evidence destruction.

After additional investigations, the prosecution filed a pre-arrest warrant again on the 14th of this month, adding charges of violating the Personal Information Protection Act and leakage of business secrets against Lawyer Choi.
