A man in his twenties, who attempted to solicit an elementary school student for sex through a chat app, fled to a police station after being pursued by a whistleblower YouTuber and was subsequently apprehended by the police.
The Incheon Gyeyang Police Station announced on the 6th that they have booked the man, identified as A, without detention on charges including indecent assault.
A is accused of meeting an elementary student, referred to as B, in the early hours of the day in Michuhol-gu, Incheon, and committing indecent acts in his car.
It is understood that A met B through an open chat room with the intent of arranging a conditional meeting and picked her up in his vehicle.
During this process, a YouTuber who broadcasts content exposing prostitution involving minors followed them, prompting A to feel uneasy and seek refuge at a police station in Gyeyang-gu.
Based on B’s statement that “A sexually assaulted me in the car” and other evidence, the police brought A in for questioning and later allowed him to return home.
A police official stated, “A claimed he suspected a conditional meeting fraud and came directly to the police station,” adding, “We plan to investigate the specific details of the incident.”
