[Hankyoreh]

Seoul’s Dongdaemun District (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced that it is operating various youth support programs at the ‘Seoul Youth Center Dongdaemun’ to help resolve and support young people’s concerns.

Firstly, the ‘Comprehensive Youth Policy Consultation’ program will be operated regularly. It offers 1:1 personalized consultations to help young people find and utilize policies that suit them and provides guidance on various youth policies of Seoul and Dongdaemun District.

Secondly, there is specialized counseling for isolated or reclusive youth facing difficulties in social life or interpersonal relationships. Last year, 22 young people received 1:1 psychological counseling, and efforts will continue to support their reintegration as healthy members of society. Applications can be made through the Youth Policy Comprehensive Consultation website (youth.seoul.go.kr/crm).

Thirdly, a program called ‘Tea Talk’ is available for young people who want to communicate and share information with their peers. It takes place at 2 PM at the ‘Seoul Youth Center Dongdaemun’, providing an opportunity for free communication through various activities such as introducing life books & blind book gifting, making sandwiches, and crafting pipe cleaner dolls. Details on the schedule and application methods can be found on the center’s blog (blog.naver.com/syc_ddm).

Dongdaemun Mayor Lee Pil-hyung stated, “I hope that young people will actively utilize the Seoul Youth Center Dongdaemun to be guided by the policies they need and to communicate with others who have similar concerns while planning their future.”
