(Daegu=Yonhap News) Reporter Choi Su-ho — Daegu City announced on the 19th that it has completed the expansion of a section of Dalseo-daero, a major arterial road around the Seongseo Industrial Complex.
According to the city, the construction, which began in November last year with a budget of 1.5 billion won, involved expanding the road leading towards the Yucheon Bridge on the section from Daecheongyo Intersection to Yucheon POSCO Intersection (640 meters in length) from 5 lanes to 6 lanes.
As a result, in this section, where heavy traffic during rush hours was caused by increased traffic volume due to the development of surrounding areas, the commute time has been reduced from seven minutes to about three minutes. The accessibility to surrounding roads is also expected to improve.
Heo Joon-seok, Director of Daegu City’s Transportation Bureau, stated, “The improvement of traffic congestion around Dalseo-daero will enhance transportation convenience for the Seongseo Industrial Complex and nearby residential areas,” and “we will strive to create a safe and pleasant road environment.”
