On the 23rd, a 50-year-old woman was arrested by police immediately after being discharged from the hospital for the murder of a 60-year-old woman at a Chinese restaurant in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province. The suspect admitted that the crime was due to a romantic relationship.
Goyang Police announced the arrest of the woman, identified as A, on murder charges. She is accused of stabbing and killing the restaurant owner, a woman in her 60s, at around 6 p.m. on the 21st at a restaurant in Samsong-dong, Deogyang-gu, Goyang City.
The son of victim B, who was working in the kitchen at the time, reported to the police and fire authorities that both his mother and a woman were found collapsed in a room, with severe injuries present on B. Responding authorities found B deceased and transported the unconscious A to a nearby hospital. A showed no visible external injuries, whereas B’s body was severely damaged.
Before being hospitalized in intensive care in Seoul, A was in a coma due to drug intake. A police investigation, including CCTV analysis, confirmed there was no third party involved, leading to A’s indictment for murder.
Upon discharge from the hospital on the 23rd, A was arrested. During police questioning, A confessed to the crime, citing it as the result of a romantic entanglement. It is reported that A was having an affair with B’s spouse. Police have been discreet regarding the details to protect the privacy of the victim and their family.
