**27th Cheonan Snow Accumulation Reaches 19.6cm**
Overnight, a significant snowfall in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, led to damages, including the collapse of livestock pens.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 28th, Cheonan received an average of 19.6 cm of snow the previous day. The area with the most snowfall was Seonghwan-eup, reporting a snow accumulation of 22.9 cm.
The heavy snow caused part of a ceiling at an electronic parts manufacturing plant in Ipjang-myeon, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan, to collapse at around 11:20 p.m., prompting the emergency evacuation of about 70 employees.
Earlier, at around 10:50 p.m., a roof of a livestock pen in Ipjang-myeon, Cheonan, collapsed under the weight of snow, resulting in the death of three dairy cows.
There were also reports of power outages.
From around 9 p.m., a blackout affected about 3000 households in the Mokcheon-eup area of Dongnam-gu, and electricity supply was cut off in the Cheonheung-ri area of Seonggeo-eup as well.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but authorities received reports of 24 tree falls, 15 issues with utility poles, and damage to 6 facilities.
A city official stated, “We have established an emergency response system for swift action,” and added, “We will continuously monitor weather conditions to minimize damage.”
