“Incheon Airport Customs has arrested and detained a man in his 30s on charges of smuggling drugs, such as ecstasy and ketamine, locally known as ‘club drugs,’ into the country.
This man is suspected of smuggling approximately 1,000 ecstasy pills and 125 grams of ketamine in August.
The customs authorities detected that the ecstasy was disguised as a health supplement and smuggled via international mail, apprehending the man as he picked up the package in Paju, Gyeonggi Province.
They later searched his residence in a villa in Seoul, discovering tools used for dividing the drugs and, through mobile phone forensics, uncovered additional hidden ecstasy and ketamine.
It is believed that the man hid the drugs in places like the garden of a residence or a villa’s pump room to sell them on social media and other platforms.
Customs is tracing the virtual currency accounts used by the man to assess the scale of drug sales.”
