A man in his 40s, who threw a shoe at Lee Jae-myung as he was appearing in court, has been transferred to the prosecution.

A man in his 40s who threw a shoe at Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, during his court appearance has been handed over to the prosecution.

According to the police on the 5th, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul recently transferred Mr. A to the prosecution on charges of assault.

Mr. A is accused of throwing a pair of sneakers at Representative Lee, who was entering the courthouse parking lot in Seocho-gu, Seoul, around 2:16 p.m. on November 15 of last year to attend a trial.

At the time, Representative Lee was attending the first trial sentencing for a violation of the Public Official Election Act, and as he was about to enter the western wing of the courthouse, Mr. A reportedly shouted loudly and threw a shoe at him.

Representative Lee was not hit by the shoe thrown by Mr. A, and Mr. A was immediately stopped by police at the scene and arrested on the spot.
