A 40-year-old man who took ‘hidden camera’ photos of over 10 female passengers on a BRT bus turned out to be the bus driver.

[Herald Economics=Reporter Han Ji-sook] A BRT bus driver in his 40s was caught by the police for illegally filming over 10 female passengers. He was apprehended after a citizen witnessed the crime at a bus stop.

The Incheon Gyeyang Police Station announced on the 5th that they arrested a bus driver, Mr. A, in his 40s, on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, specifically related to using a camera for illegal filming.

Mr. A is accused of illegally filming a female passenger disembarking from the BRT he was driving around 9:30 PM near Jakjeon-dong in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, the previous day.

An investigation revealed multiple photos of more than 10 female passengers illegally filmed on Mr. A’s mobile phone.

The police, responding to a report from a citizen who witnessed the crime at a bus stop, tracked the bus’s route and arrested Mr. A in the act on a road in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, approximately 5 km from the reported location.

A police official stated, “We have confiscated Mr. A’s mobile phone and plan to conduct digital forensics,” adding, “We will investigate for additional crimes.”
