Sean Duffy, former federal congressman and co-host of a Fox TV program, has been nominated by President-elect Donald Trump on the 18th (local time) to be the Secretary of Transportation in the second Trump administration.
In a statement, President-elect Trump announced Duffy’s nomination, stating, “He will prioritize excellence, competence, competitiveness, and beauty as we rebuild America’s highways, tunnels, bridges, and airports.” Trump also added, “He will ensure that our ports and dams benefit our economy without compromising national security.”
Duffy, a former prosecutor, served as a U.S. Congressman from Wisconsin from 2011 to 2019. During his time in Congress, he was recognized for working with Democratic members to ease legal regulations related to road and bridge construction projects in Minnesota.
Duffy is currently the co-host of Fox Business’s program “Bottom Line.” His wife, Rachel Campos-Duffy, is also a contributor to Fox News. Before this, President-elect Trump had nominated Fox News host Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense.
