Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, will visit India at the end of this year to hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor of India, revealed this during a meeting with Sergey Shoigu, the Secretary of the Russian National Security Council, in Moscow on the 7th local time.
Advisor Doval evaluated that India and Russia have established a very good strategic partnership and are interacting at a high level.
He emphasized the expectation of achieving clear and practical results from the summit between President Putin and Prime Minister Modi.
Secretary Shoigu also stated that the relationship between the two countries values mutual respect, trust, and mutual benefits, and they are prepared to continue cooperating in establishing a fair and stable world order.
The summit between President Putin and Prime Minister Modi is being pursued amidst U.S. pressure on India with tariffs due to its import of Russian oil.
President Trump signed an executive order the previous day to impose an additional 25% tariff on Indian products starting in three weeks, which India has protested as unfair.
