In a Chinese national park, a ‘family of six’ Siberian tigers has been spotted for the first time… Five cubs survive.

A mother wild Baekdu Mountain tiger and her five cubs were caught on surveillance cameras moving together in the Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park in Hunchun City, Jilin Province, China. According to the Chinese headquarters of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) on the 29th, video analysis suggests the mother is about 9 years old, and the five cubs are estimated to be around 6 to 8 months old. China’s state-run CCTV reported that it is rare for a wild Baekdu Mountain tiger to have more than four cubs, and this is the first time all five cubs have been captured on camera with their mother. There are currently about 70 wild tigers living in the Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park, a significant increase from 20 in 2010.
