You can make reservations for public sports facilities nationwide through the Naver Maps app.

[Financial News] Naver announced on the 25th that it will enable users to directly book from its platform by linking over 1,200 public sports facilities and meeting room data provided by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to Naver Place and Maps.

Through this data integration, reservations for sports facilities and meeting rooms, which were previously only available through the ‘Gongyonuri’ website, can now also be made via Naver Place search and the map app. It is expected that the convenience of booking over 1,000 facilities nationwide, such as △soccer fields, futsal fields, tennis courts, as well as lifestyle facilities including classrooms, meeting rooms, and auditoriums, owned by ministries, local governments, and public institutions, will be significantly enhanced.

For example, if a user searches for the name of a facility such as a tennis court or meeting room on the Naver website or map app, a list of available locations is provided, allowing the user to select a desired date and proceed with the booking.

Naver has been advancing its services by linking various public data to Places and Maps to enhance user convenience in accessing locations and ensuring safe travel.

Notably, since last year, it has been providing a ‘stair avoidance route’ in its map app’s walking directions. This feature guides users who find it difficult to use stairs, allowing them to bypass stairs and reach their destination.

Additionally, it has been providing disaster and accident information such as flood alerts, dam discharge notices, and large fires, acquired from various channels including local governments, in a card format on the map for timely user access. Warnings, detailed information, and response guidelines for four types of disasters—earthquakes, typhoons, heavy snow, and heavy rain—are also provided.

Furthermore, information on 112 ‘barrier-free sharing trails’ nationwide is available on the map. These trails are forest paths designed with deck roads and ocher-coated paths to ensure safe access for everyone, including people with disabilities, pregnant women, and the elderly.
