The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s English publication ‘Korea’ wins the iF Design Award Main Prize.

[Edaily Reporter Son Eui-yeon] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) announced on the 26th that the English periodical ‘KOREA’ won the main prize in the branding and communication design category, specifically in the public and social campaign branding section, at the globally prestigious design competition, the iF Design Awards 2026.

The ‘iF Design Award’, which began in Hanover, Germany in 1953, is one of the world’s top international design awards, alongside Germany’s Red Dot Design Award and the United States’ IDEA.

This year, a total of over 10,000 entries were submitted in nine categories—including product, branding & communication, and user experience (UX)—from 68 countries worldwide.

An international jury of 129 members comprehensively evaluated the entries based on design innovation, communication effectiveness, social impact, and user experience to select the award winners.

‘KOREA’ was recognized for its successful integration of Korea’s cultural and artistic national image into a modern visual language, and for effectively combining editorial design and content to allow international readers to interpret it intuitively.

A representative from the MCST stated, “Moving forward, we will continue to enhance the value of our national brand through creative content and design.”
