Support Center for Small and Medium Business, MOU with KISTI and Daejeon Tourism Organization

The Korea Small Business Institute announced on the afternoon of the 13th that it signed a business agreement with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information and Daejeon Tourism Organization at the Daejeon headquarters of the institute for the ‘MyData Demonstration Project to Revitalize Small Businesses in the Daejeon Area.’

The aim of this agreement is to stimulate tourist consumption and validate the effect of increasing the sales of local small businesses. It will use individuals’ card usage history, known as MyData, to recommend personalized tourist destinations in the Daejeon area and nearby stores that are affiliated with the Onnuri gift certificate program.

The Korea Small Business Institute plans to offer benefits to tourists and others who use the stores affiliated with the Onnuri gift certificate program near the recommended tourist destinations based on MyData. The Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information will analyze the preferences of Daejeon residents or tourists using MyData, and the Daejeon Tourism Organization will provide information on Daejeon tourist sites and support promotions targeting tourists.

In this regard, they will work together on establishing a cooperative system for promoting the demonstration project, sharing data necessary for revitalizing Daejeon tourism and supporting small businesses, and deriving plans for utilizing demonstration service outcomes and launching formal services.

The project, which is expected to increase customer visits and enhance the digital competitiveness of small businesses, will be operated as a pilot in Daejeon and will be expanded to major tourist attractions and traditional markets based on its progress.

Park Seong-hyo, chairman of the Korea Small Business Institute, stated, “We expect the demonstration project utilizing MyData to greatly aid in increasing the sales of local small businesses and developing the tourism industry,” and added, “In the future, we will continue to devise support plans for small businesses using digital technology.”
