“Special Experience Enjoying AI and Korean Culture Together”… KT Captivates Spanish Visitors [MWC 2025]

[Seoul Economy] KT announced on the 7th that it successfully concluded the ‘MWC 2025’, the world’s largest mobile communication exhibition, held in Barcelona, Spain.

At this exhibition, KT showcased the future of Korea, transformed by next-generation technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), 6G, and quantum communication. The exhibition hall, themed ‘K-STREET’, featured a future daily life where AI and K-culture are integrated. Notably, visitors could directly experience AI services applicable to real life, such as live sports commentary using AI real-time translation, AI-based smart home solutions, and AI video analysis security technology, which received positive responses from attendees.

The highlight that captured the audience’s attention was the K-pop dance challenge. Utilizing AI and augmented reality (AR) technology, the setup offered an immersive experience where visitors could dance alongside virtual scenes of famous singers, garnering considerable popularity. The blend of the Korean wave’s popularity in Spain and AI-based K-pop dancer content was effective.

On the opening day, the 3rd, Science, ICT, and Future Planning Minister Yoo Sang-im visited the KT exhibition hall, listened to explanations about next-generation technologies such as 6G and AI networks, and experienced various AI applications across seven themed spaces. Additionally, key figures from global tech giants like Google, Microsoft, and SoftBank visited and showed interest in KT’s AI agents supporting business efficiency in areas like telecommunications market analysis, GPU allocation, customer service support, and carbon disclosure.

Kim Young-seop, KT’s CEO, declared the acceleration of the transition to an AICT company at a press conference. KT plans to commercialize its Korean AI and KT SPC (Secure Public Cloud) within the second quarter of this year and lead AX (AI transformation) innovation across various industries based on it. CTO Oh Seung-pil and Strategic & New Business Consulting Division Head Jung Woo-jin announced plans to establish an ‘AX Delivery Specialist Center’ to train AX specialists and collaborate with Microsoft to develop globally competitive AI and cloud services.

CTO Oh Seung-pil said, “At this MWC, we could see the significant interest from global clients in the Korean AI models and four new AI agents KT is developing.” He added, “We will realize network innovation based on Korean AI and SPC services, enhancing AX capabilities through collaboration with various big tech companies, and dramatically revolutionize customers’ AI-based experiences.”
