SK Broadband successfully secured a contract by competing against foreign solutions and will provide ‘CloudX’.

SBI Savings Bank Smart Work Implementation Project Awarded
VDI for 1500 Virtual PCs Established
– SK Broadband announced on the 20th that it has been awarded the smart work implementation project for SBI Savings Bank and has signed a contract to supply its virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solution, ‘Cloud X’.

Cloud X, developed by SK Broadband, is a domestic VDI solution that provides a virtual desktop environment from a central server without relying on individual PCs. This allows tasks to be accessed and processed on the same virtual PC from anywhere using any device, enhancing security and efficiency.

SK Broadband stated that its commitment to continuous technology development, user convenience improvements, and operation of an integrated technology support center for quick service has enabled them to secure the smart work project of SBI Savings Bank, competing against foreign solutions. They will establish a VDI work network accommodating 1500 virtual PCs.

SK Broadband explained that during the Proof of Concept (PoC), it was recognized for its technological capabilities in excellent security features through biometric authentication integration for internal and external VDI access, document centralization solutions, and outstanding compatibility with software for peripherals.

In the future, they plan to enhance Cloud X by applying Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) technology and FIDO2 biometric authentication-based passkeys to build a multi-security system covering user, device, and network areas.

Kim Gu-young, head of SK Broadband’s Enterprise Sales Division, said, “We aim to expand the value of Cloud X beyond VDI into an integrated security solution based on its differentiated competitiveness.”

Additionally, Cloud X supports government-led security system transitions and logical network separation applications by applying guidelines such as the National Intelligence Service’s ‘National Network Security Framework (N2SF) Security Guidelines’ and the Financial Services Commission’s ‘Financial Sector Network Separation Improvement Roadmap’.
