Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, stated, “Korea excels in AI infrastructure, talent, and technological capabilities. We will support the development of AI agents.”

Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft (MS), delivered a keynote session at the MS AI Tour held at the Yangjae aT Center in Seoul on the 26th. He stated, “AI agent-based changes are occurring in every field.”

During the keynote speech, Nadella unveiled two AI agents, ‘Researcher’ and ‘Analyst’, for the first time in the world in Korea. These models incorporate AI reasoning technology that enables logical thinking like humans, aiming to resolve more complex and advanced problems.

The ‘Researcher’ combines OpenAI’s latest reasoning model, “o3”, with MS 365 Copilot’s orchestration and deep search functionality. It generates sophisticated analytical reports by collecting data both internally within the company and externally.

The ‘Analyst’ is built on the OpenAI reasoning model o3-mini, repeatedly reasoning and analyzing diverse, distributed data to extract key insights.

Nadella emphasized, “MS is not only leveraging AI agents but also a platform company that supports the development of proprietary AI agent applications (apps). Many Korean companies like LG Electronics and AmorePacific are developing their own AI apps through MS Copilot.” He further noted, “Korea excels in many fields such as AI infrastructure, human resources, and technology.”

Before the event, Nadella met with major Korean corporations and startups to discuss cooperation in the AI field. He arrived in Korea on the 25th and held successive meetings with business leaders, including AmorePacific’s Chairman Seo Kyung-bae and CEO Kim Seung-hwan, at a certain location in Seoul. He also participated in the ‘AX Leader Summit 2025′ at KT’s Gwanghwamun Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, where he met with KT’s CEO Kim Young-seop, Hyundai Motor Group’s President Song Chang-hyun, Shinhan Financial Group’s Chairman Jin Ok-dong, Korea Development Bank’s Chairman Kang Seok-hoon, POSCO Group’s Chairman Jang In-hwa, HD Hyundai’s Vice Chairman Jung Ki-sun, and EBS President Kim Yoo-yeol.

On the morning of the 26th, he met with LG Electronics’ President Cho Joo-wan and LG CNS’s CEO Hyun Shin-kyun at a place in Seoul. The companies are already utilizing MS Azure and Copilot in their products. The meeting focused on discussing partnership opportunities for co-developing AI agents, data centers, and new ventures for LG in India.

Additionally, he held a meeting with domestic AI startups, including 5 companies like Riiid Technologies, Upstage, and LINER. The meeting reportedly involved company introductions and discussions on potential collaborations for about 40 minutes starting at 10 AM.

Kim Sung-hoon, CEO of Upstage, remarked, “Nadella’s ability to pursue follow-up questions based on a deep understanding of technology was impressive. His keen interest in domestic companies is promising for collaboration with MS.” Kim Jin-woo, CEO of LINER, added, “We hope to continue our partnership with MS and engage in close discussions to shape the AI ecosystem. Today’s meeting marked the initial stage where we confirmed our willingness to collaborate.”
