Samsung SDS announced today (30th) that it recorded a revenue of 3.5697 trillion KRW and an operating profit of 252.8 billion KRW for the third quarter of this year on a consolidated basis. Compared to a year ago, revenue increased by 11.3%, and operating profit increased by 31%.
The revenue in the Information Technology (IT) services sector increased by 8% from a year ago, totaling 1.6296 trillion KRW. The cloud business revenue, driven by sustained demand growth, increased by 35.3% from the same period last year, reaching 637 billion KRW.
Within the cloud business, the Cloud Services Platform (CSP) business, based on the Samsung Cloud Platform (SCP), saw steady revenue growth by expanding subscription-based GPU services (GPUaaS) for high-performance computing (HPC) and generative artificial intelligence (AI).
In the Managed Services Provider (MSP) business, they are diversifying customers by securing a project to build a generative AI service platform for corporate clients and providing cloud transition and construction services in the finance and manufacturing sectors.
Revenue for the AI-powered Supply Chain Management Solution (SRM SaaS) also increased.
The logistics business segment saw its revenue increase by 14.2% from a year ago, totaling 1.9401 trillion KRW. The digital logistics platform Cello Square, evolving as a pillar of intelligent supply chain management, recorded a 112% increase in revenue compared to the same period last year, reaching 320.3 billion KRW. It also surpassed 17,900 subscribed customers.
Previously, Samsung SDS stated at the Real Summit 2024 that it aims to achieve hyper-automation innovation in corporate operations through AI cloud centered on graphic processing units (_GPU_).
