Netflix has raised prices in North America, but Netflix Korea has stated that there are no immediate plans to announce a price hike in South Korea. Kang Dong-han, VP of Content at Netflix Korea, responded to questions about pricing plans at the “Next on Netflix 2025 Korea” event held in Yeouido this morning. He mentioned that Netflix has not increased subscription fees in Korea since 2021 and, while they can’t guarantee prices will never go up, there are no announcements to be made at this time.
Today, Netflix Korea also unveiled a substantial lineup of original content, including movies, dramas, and variety shows, set to be released this year. Yu Ki-hwan, Director of Nonfiction at Netflix Korea, revealed that producer Na Young-seok is collaborating with Netflix for the first time, with a program slated for release in the fourth quarter of this year. However, they did not provide specific details about the original content being produced.
