Naver is set to launch its AI service, “AI Briefing,” on the 27th, according to a statement made on the 24th. The AI Briefing will initially be introduced in various formats optimized for different types such as search functions, AI shopping guides, locations, and short content.
The AI Briefing offers an optimal search flow tailored to the user’s search intent, with varied UX/UI designs and exposure locations. The “Official and Multi-source AI Briefing” provides core information at the top of search results for queries needing specific answers or content exploration. It helps users quickly obtain desired information and supports further exploration with follow-up questions by using a wide range of exclusive content sources like blogs and cafes.
For example, when searching for “requirements for driver’s license renewal” or “passport photo glasses,” it summarizes responses using official sources like government or public institutions and directs users to relevant pages.
If a user searches for conclusions of a drama or movie whose outcome they don’t remember, such as “End of OOO,” it provides a summary of contents from multiple sources at the top, allowing users to grasp the entire context quickly.
Personalized recommendations based on the user’s search context are also provided in the feed area at the bottom, enhancing the overall search experience.
The “Short-content AI Briefing” summarizes recommended short content to quickly grasp key information and allows users to check original content for more details. Meanwhile, the “Place-type AI Briefing” enables users to explore local-related information in a more interesting and in-depth manner. Searching travel themes like “Kyoto travel” will show tabs with categorized major content produced frequently and searched by users.
Naver also applied AI Briefing to the “Naver Plus Store” app, providing shopping-optimized summaries with characteristics and purchase tips, helping users find the most suitable products with just a few clicks without needing to input specific product information or usage.
Naver plans to expand AI Briefing’s exposure across a variety of queries within the year, and will gradually introduce new features such as multi-modal services through image searches and support for languages like English and Japanese.
