KT unveils AI assistant for GPU management, claiming “20% efficiency improvement” [MWC 2025]

**KT Introduces Four AI Agents for Businesses, Managing GPUs and Carbon**

[Seoul Economic Daily] In the midst of a global GPU supply shortage, KT is introducing an AI agent to efficiently manage GPU resources for AI companies. On March 2, KT announced that it will participate in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, held at the Fira Gran Via exhibition center in Barcelona, Spain, and will showcase various AI technologies, including a ‘GPU Allocation Agent.’

The GPU Allocation Agent assists companies in efficiently operating and managing their GPU resources. It dynamically allocates resources and prioritizes tasks based on real-time GPU resource status and user demand. KT explained that this can improve efficiency by about 20% compared to manual GPU resource management. The agent can take requests from developers when GPU resources are insufficient for a project and find optimal solutions. In situations where there is an abundance of idle resources, the agent proactively suggests GPU usage based on project information.

KT will showcase four AI agents for business tasks, including the GPU Allocation Agent, at its MWC booth’s ‘K-Office Zone.’ After collaborating with Microsoft last year to promote AI business cooperation, KT aims to enter the B2B market by launching actual services. The ‘Telecom Market Competitive Analysis Agent’ gathers and organizes vast internal data held by companies, providing customized analytics and insights for each domain. Visitors can engage in Q&A sessions with the agent based on graphs drawn from wireless telecom market data and gain in-depth insights and interpretations.

The ‘Customer Service Support Agent’ records and summarizes customer service interactions in real-time and recommends necessary work knowledge to handle inquiries precisely and swiftly. The ‘Knowledge Recommendation Agent,’ combined with Microsoft services, dramatically reduces the time it takes for customer service reps to search and extract work knowledge, enabling faster assistance. It is expected to reduce information search efforts and shorten the consultation time by over 10 seconds. The ‘Carbon Disclosure Agent’ analyzes the causes of changes in carbon emissions and provides reduction guides, automating the work of experts in calculating emissions when new products are added.

Additionally, KT is expanding its booth size by 1.7 times compared to last year and showcasing various AI technologies. In the ‘K-Street’ section, visitors can have a unique experience of daily life with AI technology while walking down a Korean street. In the future stadium ‘K-Stadium,’ visitors can experience an announcer powered by KT DS’s AI real-time translation technology. There is also a space for experiencing a welcome message from ‘AI Lee Kang-in’ and listening to custom cheering songs for KT Wiz created by AI.

At the ‘K-Pocha,’ a recreated Korean street food stall, KT showcases pattern analysis technology using AI. With the ‘KT High Order’ table order service, products ordered are paid through the BC Card PAYBOOK app, and AI predicts the customer’s next action to recommend related products. The ‘K-House,’ inspired by Korean apartments, demonstrates a smart home environment utilizing AI, showcasing GenieTV’s personalized control of lights, curtains, and air purifiers, as well as noise detection for optimal indoor environments.

Technologies for ensuring safe streets are also presented, including 5G precision positioning technology ‘ELSAR,’ along with smishing/spam blocking technologies and AI video analysis solutions. KT also introduces AI technologies from its partner ‘Mobibell’ within the exhibition and has established a KT AICT Cooperation Pavilion within Hall 8 to support global expansion for KT’s partners.

The ‘K-Pop Stage’ offers an experience where AI-generated dancers perform with attendees, backed by music from Genie Music’s K-Pop tracks. Additionally, over 1,600 types of magazines from around the world are custom-offered by AI via the ‘MoaJin,’ allowing global visitors to experience Korean culture in diverse ways.

In the future network technology section ‘K-Lab,’ KT’s network vision and key technologies aimed at KT’s 6G are introduced. Visitors can learn about 6G network technology, AI network technology, disaster recovery technology, and quantum communication technology, showcasing KT’s vision for next-generation network technology. KT’s 6G vision involves infrastructure evolving with satellite, AI, and cloud technologies, providing differentiated customer value with enhanced transmission speeds, reduced latency, network survivability, and coverage.

A multi-layer platform incorporating low and geostationary orbit satellites offers integrated 3D space coverage with existing terrene networks. The evolution towards AI networks is also demonstrated, including technology that analyzes customer usage patterns to enhance base station performance and a roadmap for semantic communication research, where AI understands intent and context to suggest necessary services autonomously.

The exhibition includes a hands-on experience with next-generation disaster recovery technology based on a multi-cloud platform, maintaining connectivity even during disasters. This technology ensures stable communication services for customers even in large-scale network failures through AI dynamic resource allocation, real-time monitoring, and automated recovery mechanisms.

Quantum cryptography communication technology for network security enhancement is also introduced. By combining quantum encryption key technology with confidential computing, KT describes creating a quantumized digital information and network system, establishing a secure cloud environment to prevent customer information theft. Yoon Tae-shik, KT’s Brand Strategy Director, stated, “We will continue to expand branding programs that allow customers to enjoy and experience AI in daily life.”
