KT announced on the 23rd that it is pursuing a business agreement with the National Gwacheon Science Museum to cultivate future AI talent.
KT plans to establish a regular AI education program at the National Gwacheon Science Museum for elementary, middle, and high school students to experience everyday technological examples, using various practical content and infrastructure it has developed. Additionally, they will provide opportunities to take the AI competency certification exam, AICE.
Initially, the program will cater to elementary students with KT’s “AI Codiny” educational program. AI Codiny is a block coding tool that allows elementary students to naturally learn the principles and logic of computer operations as if they were playing a game. It is integrated with various IoT educational kits, enabling students to directly implement AI-based features like voice recognition.
For middle and high school students, an education program using the no-coding AI practical tool “AIDUez” developed by KT will be conducted. Students not familiar with Python coding can learn the AI model development process with just simple mouse clicks using AIDUez. They will also get to directly experience examples of AI application in daily life, such as “predicting public bicycle demand using AI.”
KT and the National Gwacheon Science Museum will offer opportunities for students who participate in the aforementioned AI education to take the AI competency certification exam AICE. Elementary students can take the AICE Future exam, while middle and high school students can take the AICE Junior exam at the National Gwacheon Science Museum, and upon passing, they will receive AICE certification and a digital badge.
Furthermore, the two institutions plan to strengthen efforts in training professional instructors to meet the rapidly growing demand for digital education. KT intends to offer AICE education and the latest technology trends to instructors affiliated with the National Gwacheon Science Museum. They aim to continuously collaborate to discover various programs in AI education, fostering an environment where students can become more familiar with AI technology.
Park Jeong-ho, head of KT Edu AX Business Group, said, “We expect significant outcomes in nurturing future talent based on AI through cooperation with the National Gwacheon Science Museum,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to ensure that AI technology contributes beneficially to society through various educational initiatives.”
