“[Seoul=Newsis] Reporter Jo Soo-won = The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Content Agency announced on the 3rd that they are recruiting companies and prospective entrepreneurs to participate in the ‘2025 Indie Game Support Project’ until the 20th.”
The support project, which changed its name from the existing game planning support project this year, provides comprehensive support for the production of indie games, including consulting, exhibition participation, and networking. It is recruiting approximately 53 projects across a total of four categories: ▲Prospective Startups ▲Startup-Corporations ▲Startup-Individuals ▲Growth Companies, with a budget of 3.5 billion KRW.
This year’s project is operated jointly by the public and private sectors based on the ‘Indie Game Support System Construction Business Agreement’ signed last December between the Korea Content Agency and leading gaming companies such as ▲NeoWiz ▲Smilegate Megaport ▲Pearl Abyss. The plan is to cooperate on the establishment of partnerships with indie game companies and the planning and operation of indie game support programs.
Support benefits are also being enhanced. In addition to existing support such as development support funds, mentoring programs, participation in domestic and international exhibitions, and showcases, this year adds ▲Partnerships between leading companies and indie game developers ▲Support for joint seminars by leading companies. Additionally, projects that demonstrate outstanding performance in interim evaluations will receive additional support funds through an incentive system.
The Korea Content Agency plans to hold a ‘Game Content Production Support Business Briefing’ on the 14th at the Gwanghwamun CKL Corporate Support Center to provide explanations about the indie game support project.
