Samsung Electronics’ “Galaxy Z Fold 7” has achieved record-high pre-sale numbers in the U.S., with a 50% increase compared to its predecessor. The pre-sales of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 have reached the highest numbers in the history of the Z Fold series. In addition, the combined pre-sales of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 have increased by more than 25% year-on-year, with reservations through carriers up by 60%.
According to Samsung, the blue color option for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 was the most popular, accounting for approximately 50% of pre-orders, marking a shift from the traditionally popular black. Meanwhile, the ‘Coral Red’ color for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 made up about 25% of its pre-sales.
Drew Blackard, vice president at Samsung Electronics America, emphasized that the Galaxy Z Fold series has seen its strongest response ever in the U.S. and noted that foldable phones are becoming mainstream choices. He also mentioned the significant growth in demand among female consumers since 2024, which continues to be monitored.
U.S. media outlets have also praised the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. Bloomberg called the Galaxy Z Fold 7 an obvious choice for upgrading from existing smartphones, highlighting its large display and high-quality software experience. They particularly commended the expanded 6.5-inch cover screen for its noticeable improvements in tasks like document work, gaming, and video viewing.
IT media The Verge described the device as thinner, lighter, and more balanced, calling it the beginning of a new era in foldable phones, which now feel like a “benchmark.”
Daniel Araujo, an executive at Samsung Electronics, reported in the recent earnings call that the initial sales results for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 were positive and aligned with targeted growth expectations. He added that Samsung aims for double-digit growth compared to the previous year and plans to maintain the strong sales momentum in the second half.
