Yoo Young-ha of the People Power Party says, “I will absolutely not unify with Joo Ho-young and Lee Jin-sook.”

Candidate Yoo Young-ha, who advanced to the main primary for the People Power Party’s candidate for Daegu mayor, stated that if he becomes the final candidate, he will “absolutely not unify with Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Joo Ho-young and former broadcasting communication committee chairwoman Lee Jin-sook.”

On the 19th, Yoo held a press conference at the People Power Party’s Daegu Party office in Suseong-gu, Daegu. When asked about the possibility of unification among conservative candidates, he claimed, “It is up to them (Deputy Speaker Joo and former chairwoman Lee) to decide their positions.”

Yoo emphasized, “There is a procedure that the party must follow. Ignoring these procedures to unify according to a candidate’s desires is not the stance of an official party, nor is it appropriate for a public figure.”

Yoo added, “Even if the party demands (unification with Deputy Speaker Joo and former chairwoman Lee), I will continue on my path.”

When asked if former President Park Geun-hye could participate in campaign activities should he become the final candidate, Yoo replied, “While I wouldn’t dissuade her, I believe the campaign is ultimately my responsibility.”
