(Financial News) Senior members of the People Power Party have reached a consensus on the prompt formation of an emergency committee led by party insiders.
Representative Park Dae-chul, after a meeting of senior party members held at the National Assembly, told reporters, “Since Representative Han Dong-hoon has expressed his intention to resign, there is a consensus on the need to quickly establish an emergency committee.”
Park further explained, “Regarding the appointment of the emergency committee chairperson, we thought a party insider with ample experience, who can effectively lead the party toward stability, unity, and reform, would be appropriate.”
When asked whether the party insider would be someone from within the National Assembly or outside, Park stated, “I will refer to them as a party insider.”
However, it was reported that no specific individuals were mentioned during the meeting concerning the selection of the committee chairperson.
The senior members plan to propose this idea at the general assembly meeting scheduled for the afternoon, aiming to gather the opinions of all party members.
