Since the 22nd National Assembly was inaugurated, this is the first achievement where the ruling and opposition parties, together with the government, have reached an agreement to address a people’s livelihood issue.’,

, ‘According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on the 21st, the amendment to the special law on lease fraud was passed at the plenary session of the National Assembly’s Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee in the morning. The key point is that the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) purchases victim housing through auction at a lower bid price and provides victims with long-term public rental housing with no rent burden for up to 10 years. If the victim wants to continue living in the house, they can pay rental fees at the level of public rental housing and live for an additional 10 years.’,

, ‘LH will use the auction profit (LH appraisal price – bid amount) generated from purchasing victim housing at a lower bid price to support the rental fees. Any remaining auction profits after residence will be paid to the victims. However, the total sum of the auction profit, rental fee support, and other government support cannot exceed the security deposit that the victim has not received back.’,

They can choose another public rental housing priority supply and receive rental fee support, or immediately receive the remaining auction profits by deducting the rental fee support received during the residence period. Victims of dual contract fraud without resistance are also covered by the special law. Once passed at the plenary session, it will be enforced two months after promulgation following the amendment of subordinate regulations. A Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport official stated, “We will smoothly prepare for the purchase of victim housing before the enforcement date, such as subordinate regulations, budget, manpower, and detailed operational standards.”‘,
