A survey result was released on the 20th showing that the People Power Party’s support has surpassed that of the Democratic Party by a margin outside of the error range for the first time in about six months, according to a poll conducted by Realmeter at the request of Energy Economics Newspaper on January 16-17. The survey targeted 1,004 voters aged 18 and older nationwide, with a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of ±3.1 percentage points. The support for the People Power Party was 46.5%, while the Democratic Party’s support was at 39.0%.
Compared to the survey conducted a week prior, the People Power Party’s support increased by 5.7 percentage points, while the Democratic Party’s support decreased by 3.2 percentage points. The gap in support between the two parties, which was within the error range at 1.4 percentage points last week, has widened to 7.5 percentage points, outside the error range.
When asked about preferences for the next presidential ruling power, 48.6% favored the extension of the ruling party’s governance, while 46.2% favored a change in power by the opposition.
This survey was conducted using an automatic response method with a composition of 97% wireless and 3% wired respondents. The response rate was 7.8%. Further details can be found on the National Election Survey Deliberation Commission’s website.
