Park Chan-dae: “Yoon’s refusal to comply with the warrant is inciting civil unrest… He should be arrested immediately.”

The Democratic Party of Korea claimed that President Yoon Suk-yeol should be arrested today for not complying with a warrant.

Democratic Party Floor Leader Park Chan-dae stated in a policy coordination meeting held at the National Assembly, “The Joint Investigation Headquarters should not delay the arrest warrant and arrest the insurrection leader Yoon Suk-yeol immediately today (2nd).”

He added, “Obstructing the arrest of an insurrection leader who conspired to overthrow the Republic of Korea is tantamount to admitting to being an accomplice in the rebellion,” and urged the Presidential Security Service not to interfere with the execution of official duties and to cooperate readily with the execution of the arrest warrant.

Floor Leader Park continued his criticism over President Yoon sending a message to supporters opposing his impeachment the previous day, calling it “incitement to civil war.”

Park also pressured Vice Premier Choi Sang-mok to appoint Constitutional Court nominee Ma Eun-hyuk and to immediately request a special prosecutor for the insurrection case.
