“Must be driven out” Lee Jun-seok targets Lee with AI photos… This time it’s a parody of Park Geun-hye

[Financial News] Lee Jun-seok, leader of the Reform Party, once again criticized President Lee Jae-myung and the ruling party through an AI-generated post.

On the 18th, Lee posted a lengthy message on his Facebook, stating, “Recently, the Democratic Party is attempting to oust Chief Justice Cho Hui-dae of the Supreme Court based on a third-party recording, not from Cho himself. This is under the so-called ‘Lee Jae-myung trial orchestration theory.'”

Along with this, he released an AI image of President Lee making a phone call. Notably, on a monitor next to him is Chief Justice Cho, and there is a phrase on the wall saying “He must be ousted.”

This image parodies a scene from 2015 when then-President Park Geun-hye visited an isolation ward for the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) at Seoul National University Hospital and spoke with medical staff. The scenario was humorously altered to feature President Lee.

Lee remarked, “It is astonishing how the ruling party has a double standard. They strongly demanded a statement from Chief Justice Cho, but when he made one yesterday, they criticized him for being ‘careless.’ The Democratic Party had praised Chief Justice Cho during his confirmation hearing, but now they criticize him. The current government’s and ruling party’s approach is ‘say it if it’s true, ignore it if not.'”

He continued, “The parallel world the ruling party is trying to create is one where ‘Chief Justice Cho was biased, hence President Lee’s past trials were unfair, and the judicial rulings should be reviewed.’ In this sweet alternative reality, all judicial risks disappear and past failures are disguised as political oppression, but no matter how enticing, fiction is still fiction.”

He added, “The Lee Jae-myung administration is using the enigmatic recording as a gladiatorial show to divert public attention and sacrifice the judiciary like in a coliseum. President Lee must choose whether to be remembered as a great leader who looks to the future, achieving KOSPI 5000 and successful trade negotiations, or as a failed power clinging to past judicial risks.”

On the 16th, Lee also posted a composite image of President Lee wearing a blue jumper, the Democratic Party’s symbol, holding a judge’s gavel against a backdrop of the phoenix, conveying a message of criticism.

In response, Kim Ji-ho, a spokesperson for the Democratic Party, stated, “Misleading the public through falsehoods and distortions is a serious crime undermining the fundamental order of democracy.”
