“Today, Tuesday (the 19th), the scorching heat will continue with daytime temperatures nationwide reaching 30-35 degrees Celsius.
The expected daytime high temperatures for major cities are as follows: Seoul 31°C, Incheon 30°C, Daejeon 33°C, Gwangju and Daegu 35°C, Ulsan 34°C, and Busan 33°C.
Taking humidity into account, the perceived temperatures will rise to around 33°C in most areas, with the eastern coastal region of Gangwon, the southern regions, and Jeju expected to reach around 35°C.
In the morning, there will be 5-20mm of rain focused on the metropolitan area, inland Gangwon, and Chungnam.
In the afternoon, there may be showers in eastern Gyeonggi, inland Gangwon, inland Chungcheong, Honam, inland Gyeongsang, and Jeju.
Rainfall from showers is expected to be 5-20mm in the central region and 5-40mm in the southern region and Jeju.
Strong winds with gusts up to around 55 km/h (70 km/h in mountainous areas) are forecasted mainly for Yeongdong in Gangwon and the northeastern mountains and east coast of Gyeongbuk.
Meanwhile, the 28th tropical depression located south of Okinawa, Japan, is expected to develop into Typhoon Lingling within 24 hours. Typhoon Lingling is anticipated to move north to the waters south of Jeju and then proceed northwest to enter the West Sea. It is expected to have an indirect impact on our country later this week.”
