Last night, tropical nights continued in Seoul. This brings the total number of tropical nights in Seoul this year to 36 days. This is the same as the number of days in 1994, marking it as the year with the most tropical nights recorded in history.
This record is expected to continue, with tropical nights and heatwaves continuing through the weekend. Tomorrow (the 24th), there are forecasted showers in some areas amidst the heat, and on Sunday, there is news of rain in the Yeongnam region, the southern coast, and Jeju.
Even now, strong shower clouds are developing in various parts of the country. Tomorrow, there will be strong showers in various parts of the country, especially in Ulsan and the eastern inland areas of Gyeongsangnam-do, where up to 60mm of rainfall can be expected, and up to 40mm in other parts of the country, so be cautious.
Tomorrow morning, as the minimum temperature reaches 25 degrees Celsius, tropical nights will continue in the city center and along the coast. The daytime temperature tomorrow is expected to reach 33 degrees Celsius in Seoul, 34 degrees in Gangneung, and 35 degrees in Daegu.
In the latter half of next week, there is a possibility of temporary relief from the heat and tropical nights as cooler air descends.
