The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) has launched a travel campaign to aid in the recovery of areas affected by wildfires. The “Travel + Accompany” campaign will run until mid-July, focusing on regions such as Ulsan’s Ulju County, several counties in North Gyeongsang Province, and cities in South Gyeongsang Province. Under the slogan “Travel that Revives Regions, Accompaniment that Connects Hearts,” the campaign emphasizes supporting the daily recovery of affected areas through tourism. Efforts include promoting major tourist spots in these areas, offering digital tourism resident cards, and providing special benefits linked to existing programs.
Key details and benefits of the campaign can be found on the Visit Korea website and mobile app. Information about recommended tourist spots and discounted travel packages is available, with a portion of the proceeds going to aid the affected regions. An online and offline visit certification event will also be held, offering prizes such as Galaxy Buds Pro3 and coupons.
Additionally, a social contribution travel program involving digital tourism residents is planned for June, with coupons available for regional attractions. Other initiatives include operating a tour train to cultural markets and special promotions for leisure and wellness products online.
For more information, visit the official Visit Korea website. The KTO plans to keep promoting tourism to these areas on their social media channels to increase public interest. Lee Sang-min, acting head of KTO’s National Tourism Headquarters, emphasized the importance of traveling to these regions as a form of support and mentioned that the organization is committed to holding events in wildfire-affected areas to expedite tourism recovery.
