‘Alpine is set to land in Korea in 2026.’
Alpine is a sports car brand of Renault Group founded in 1955.
Alpine CEO Philippe Sinault met with reporters at the Paris Motor Show on the 14th local time, stating, “We plan to launch the Alpine brand in Korea in 2026,” and “We are planning to sell about 20 Alpine A110s by the end of this year.”
He mentioned, “We plan to visit Korea around November this year,” and added, “It is too early to talk about the establishment of Alpine Korea and the possibility of production in Busan.”
Regarding the transition to electric cars, Philippe Sinault stated, “By 2026, consider that everything will be 100% electrified,” and emphasized, “In the future, Alpine will produce 7 cars, and all 7 will be electric vehicles.”
Philippe Sinault also added, “Once the A390 goes into production, it will be available not only in Europe but also in Asia, including Korea, and then in the United States.”
At the Paris Motor Show on the 14th local time, Alpine unveiled the concept car A390-Beta of the electric SUV A390. The A390 is scheduled to be released next year.
Philippe Sinault also said, “In the European sports car market, the A110 model is currently the second best-selling,” and explained, “With a total volume of around 5,000 units, we are selling more than the Porsche 718 Cayman.”
He further added, “Looking ahead, as two more models are added, the sales volume is expected to increase significantly, and we aim to appeal to both customers who like sportiness and those who want a premium line.”
Lastly, in response to a question about Alpine’s competing brands, Philippe Sinault stated, “We are positioned between Audi and Porsche,” and declared, “We see ourselves as between the Porsche and Audi sports lines.”
