“KG Mobility Enters Hybrid Market with Torres HEV Launch”

KG Mobility (KGM) has launched its brand’s first hybrid model, the Torres Hybrid (HEV), marking its entry into the domestic hybrid market. According to KGM, they released the Torres HEV to respond to the rapidly changing demands of the domestic market. The domestic hybrid market has been growing at an average rate of over 44% annually since 2020.

The Torres HEV, designed with a traditional SUV style, offers competitive pricing and is optimized for electric driving in everyday urban settings. It boasts top-level fuel efficiency improvement rates, a genuine outdoor appeal, and stable ride comfort.

The Torres HEV’s price, benefiting from a special consumption tax of 3.5% and eco-friendly vehicle tax incentives, is set at 31.4 million KRW for the T5 and 36.35 million KRW for the T7. A KGM representative explained that the price increase compared to gasoline models has been minimized.

The Torres HEV features KGM’s “Dual Tech Hybrid System,” which uses the latest hybrid system with inline dual motors, achieving excellent fuel efficiency and driving performance. Compared to the gasoline model, the hybrid’s combined fuel efficiency improved by 41%, achieving 15.7 km/l. It is equipped with 20-inch wheels, boasting a leading combined fuel efficiency among similar hybrid models at 15.2 km/l.

With an HEV-specific transmission, the vehicle supports various driving modes and can operate in electric (EV) mode up to 94% during urban driving. Additionally, it carries the largest battery capacity among competitors at 1.83 kWh, optimizing the system’s efficiency with stable current supply.

KGM significantly enhanced the convenience features of the Torres HEV. A 12.3-inch digital cluster with a next-generation infotainment platform, ‘Athena 2.0,’ with a day-night integrated GUI (Graphical User Interface), allows drivers to intuitively access a variety of driving information. Enhanced driver conveniences include over-the-air software updates (OTA), expanded navigation map cluster dual map functionality, and a second-row heated seat control menu.

A KGM representative stated, “With the launch of the Torres Hybrid, KGM plans to lead the hybrid market by introducing a variety of hybrid models and contributing to the popularization of hybrids.”
