The morning fog has cleared, and now the entire country is experiencing clear weather. Today, the strong sun will shine brightly under clear skies, especially in Gwangju, where the UV index is expected to soar to ‘dangerous’ levels. It will be hotter today than yesterday. In the afternoon, temperatures will rise to around 33 degrees in Yanggu, Gangwon, 32 degrees in Seoul, Daegu, and Jangseong, Jeollanam-do, and 31 degrees in Daejeon, which is 1 to 5 degrees higher than yesterday. The high humidity will make it feel even more sweltering.
Currently, the stationary front has moved to the distant seas in the South. However, it is expected to move north again this afternoon, bringing rain to Jeju Island, with widespread monsoon rains expected across most parts of the country tomorrow and on Wednesday. Although we will be free from the influence of the stationary front on Thursday and Friday, there will be more monsoon rains in the central and Jeonbuk regions on Saturday and Sunday.
There may be showers this late afternoon into the evening in inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon. The daytime temperatures will rise to around 30 degrees, especially in inland areas, making it quite hot. The sea waves will be relatively high, reaching up to 2.5 meters in the distant southern seas of Jeju.
