Hyundai launches the ‘2025 Porter Electric’…”Faster charging”

Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 12th that it has launched the ‘2025 Porter II Electric’, a compact truck with enhanced product competitiveness, and has begun its official sales.

The 2025 Porter II Electric has been improved based on customer feedback, focusing on practical features and convenience. Key improvements include reduced fast charging time, extended driving range per charge, improved battery clearance, and the addition of charging port lighting.

To address existing customer dissatisfaction with charging speed, Hyundai enhanced the thickness of the high-voltage cable wiring to increase the charging current. This allowed them to reduce the fast charging time from 47 minutes to 32 minutes for charging a battery from 10% to 80% capacity at a 100 kW fast charging station.

The Porter II Electric is equipped with a 60.4 kWh lithium-ion high-voltage battery, which has improved energy density and reduced weight with new battery cells, resulting in a 6 km increase for a total driving range of 217 km per charge compared to the previous model.

Furthermore, to address the inconvenience of low battery clearance when driving on rural unpaved roads, the battery clearance has been increased by 10 mm. Additionally, LED lighting has been applied to the top of the charging port to enhance visibility during nighttime charging.

Hyundai has introduced a new economical trim, the ‘Style Special’, to minimize financial burden and widen customer choice. The Style Special trim, with some specifications simplified, is priced 1.35 million KRW cheaper than the ‘Smart Special’ trim.

The sales prices for the 2025 Porter II Electric are as follows: 43.25 million KRW for the Style Special, 44.6 million KRW for the Smart Special, and 42.6 million KRW for the Premium Special.
