Former President Moon Jae-in and his wife, the “bookstore keeper” of Pyeongsan Bookstore, will also attend the Seoul International Book Fair.

Former President Moon Jae-in will attend the 2025 Seoul International Book Fair, which opens on the 18th. The Seoul International Book Fair announced on the 17th that Moon, who is acting as “bookshop keeper” for Pyeongsan Bookshop, is expected to attend after the foundation’s participation in the event with a booth was reported by the media.

According to the announcement, Moon will visit the book fair with his wife, Kim Jung-sook, on the afternoon of the first day, the 18th, and the afternoon of the second day, the 19th. Additionally, Moon is scheduled to deliver a congratulatory speech and act as a presenter at the “Best Book in Korea” awards ceremony held on the afternoon of the 18th at the book fair. The “Best Book in Korea” event selects and introduces Korean books with various values such as originality, aesthetics, and distinctiveness to domestic and international audiences through public submissions.

This year, 40 titles will be exhibited in four categories: “Best Book Design in Korea,” “Best Book for Children in Korea,” “Best Book of Pleasure in Korea,” and “Best Book of Wisdom in Korea,” with ten titles in each category.

The book fair is held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul, and will continue until the 22nd. Tickets sold out during the pre-booking phase, so no on-site sales will occur. Free admission is provided to preschool children, people with disabilities, national merit awardees, and those aged 65 and older at the registration desk.
