Chevrolet ranks in the top 5 for domestic passenger car exports for two consecutive years.

According to a report by Lee Yoon-hwa of Edaily, Chevrolet’s Trax Crossover and Trailblazer have achieved remarkable positions as the first and fourth in domestic passenger car exports in 2024. Chevrolet has maintained its position as the top exporter of domestic passenger cars for the second consecutive year, placing two models among the top five.

Based on the ‘December 2024 Automotive Industry Trends’ report by the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA), the Chevrolet Trax Crossover (including derivative models) sold a total of 295,099 units in overseas markets last year, securing the top spot despite being nearly two years since its 2023 launch.

The Chevrolet Trailblazer (including derivative models) sold 178,066 units overseas last year, placing it fourth. The Trax Crossover redefines the crossover segment as Chevrolet’s stylish new entry model, featuring a spacious interior, sophisticated design, and superior driving performance.

Notably, based on shipments from GM Korea, the Trax Crossover sold 33,587 units in December alone, marking the highest monthly overseas sales since its shipments began following its March 2023 launch. Its cumulative overseas sales are over 510,000 units by 2024.

The Chevrolet Trailblazer, since its debut in the global market in 2019, has achieved cumulative overseas sales of approximately 830,000 units by 2024, showcasing its global popularity. The Trailblazer is a premium compact SUV that emphasizes the DNA of an ‘authentic SUV,’ with excellent off-road capabilities and versatility.

GM Korea announced that last year’s total automotive export value reached $70.8 billion, marking the second year in a row it surpassed $70 billion, contributing significantly to the Korean economy and automotive industry. The company plans to secure a production capacity close to 500,000 units annually, focusing on high-demand strategic models in the global market to ensure sustainability in the Korean market.
